The film tells the story of four children who are separated at a fair and unknowingly reunite years later when Geeta (Sadhana) meets Nita (also Sadhana) in prison. Nita has been wrongly accused of murder. Geeta is then caught up in a scheme to find the true killer which leads her to her brother Johnny's (Sunil Dutt) gang.

008 and 007, two down on their luck detectives, help a young man who is in the midst of a murder mystery; it seems that two men have already been killed and small statues that were in their possession are now missing. The two bumblers, assisted by the lovely Rajni, whose brother is next on the killer's hit list, set out to track down the criminal masterminds.

Johny, who attempts to solve the problems of the residents of his colony, kidnaps Priya by accident and falls for her. He tries to woo her but soon realises that she loves someone else.

Story starts showing Yousaf in a railway station who, quickly jumps into the train, he sees Zulekha in a train for the very first time and is unable to get her out of his mind. Zulaikha on the other hand stuck in between the proposals of her cousins which are for the personal interests of her parents. She meets Yousuf once again who is in love with her, Zulekha feels for Yousuf is nothing more than momentary meeting.. The story shows how the they fall in love and will further look upon problems they face after past is revealed.
